What Works For Me 33/365 Ooey Gooey Munchy ChewyPosted: February 4, 2012
Wombat Stew!Doesn’t it look delicious? Or not? We followed up the reading of this classic children’s story with making our own wombat stew. All I really had were some random feathers but I found an old pot, I had many willing helpers to assist with the making of “mud” and of course we could catch lots of imaginary flies, bugs and creepy crawlies to add to it. The look of horror on many little faces as I prepared to “taste” the stew was just priceless!
This was such a “rich” follow up activity to reading the story because I had lots of little ELLs (English Language Learners) happily chanting along with the Dingo’s refrain as the stew got mixed up.
