What Works For Me 8/365 Have A Go

Today found us at the State Library of Queensland for a much anticipated get-together with friends followed by a wander around their current event Look! The Art of Australian Picture books Today.  Eric and I were very impressed with the art works on display, especially the ones where they had notes or preliminary drawings to show the “process” the illustrator went through.  It wonderful to see the images created for some of our favourite books.  Both boys illustrated digital copies of a storybook and had it e-mailed home but the rest of it wasn’t Daniel’s scene.  he came to his own with the robot making down the the courtyard.  he was very eager to have a go because he would have something in his hand to take home. E-mailing the storybook was a bit of an anti-climax for him.  He worked very hard at following the instructions and watching what the lady in charge was doing and the finished result was rather cool!

It became even more cool when he named it, “RO BRO.”

I think the big brother who was a bit too cool and grown up to make a robot from a coffee cup wished he had given it a go.  I also think that a few more things are working with the younger one compared to the older one.  Must work on that!
